Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Halbeeg holds, why, and who can see it. It describes how the service works today.

Draft: not yet final

This page describes how Halbeeg works today. It is being finalised, and these points are still to be confirmed by Halbeeg:

  • The legal entity responsible for your data (the data controller) and its address
  • Where the data is hosted, and in which countries
  • How long data is kept after a business stops using Halbeeg
  • How to ask for a copy of your data or for it to be deleted, and how fast we answer

1. What we collect

About you: your name, email address, optional phone number, and your chosen language. Your password is stored only as a secure one-way hash; we cannot read it.

For sign-in security: one-time codes (stored as hashes), your passkeys' public keys, recovery codes (hashed), and the devices you sign in from, so we can recognise a new device and alert you.

About your business: its name and legal name, logo, phone numbers, email, addresses, licence and tax numbers, and its branches.

For review: the ID and business licence you upload. They are kept in private storage and can be opened only by Halbeeg staff, through links that expire and are logged.

The records you enter: products, sales, customers (such as their names, phone numbers and balances), suppliers, purchases, expenses and their receipt photos, stock movements and transfers.

For billing: your plan, payments, mobile-money references and payment screenshots. Where card payments are offered, the card is entered in Stripe's form; Halbeeg never sees or stores the card number.

2. Why we use it

To run Halbeeg for your business: to sign you in, show your records, work out stock, balances and reports, and print receipts and invoices.

To review businesses before they can sell, to check payments, and to send the emails the service needs: sign-in codes, review results, payment receipts and plan reminders.

To keep the service safe: the activity log records who did what, at which branch and from which device.

3. Who can see it

Your business's records are visible only to the people you invite, and each sees only what their role allows. Another business can never see them.

Halbeeg staff can see what they need to review businesses, check payments and help when you ask. Opening a review document is logged.

We use service providers to run Halbeeg, such as our email provider (to send codes and receipts), file storage and hosting, and Stripe for card payments where offered. We do not sell your data and we do not show advertising.

4. Cookies and storage in your browser

Halbeeg uses only the cookies it needs: your sign-in session, a short-lived cookie during sign-in, your language, and the branch this device works in.

Some screen preferences, such as hiding a plan notice for the day, are kept in your browser's storage. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Your choices

You can change your name, email, language, password, passkeys and two-step sign-in in My profile. The business owner can change the business details in Settings.

To ask about your data, or to have it corrected or removed, contact us.
